Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate Smokedown

The Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate Smokedown had a fire turnout on April 30th at Panther Island Pavilion!! This premier large-scale nonprofit BBQ competition benefitted the mission to make the dreams of young livestock exhibitors come true through educational scholarships. These scholarships equip and encourage individuals to pursue higher education and careers in the agricultural industry. This mouth-watering event allowed hundreds of people to gather together to enjoy live music, drinks, delicious BBQ and an unforgettable BBQ competition featuring the best smokers around! The crowd loved the live music from the special guests Kyle Park, Cory Morrow, Topo Chico Cowboys, The Randy Brown Show, Lauren Corzine and The Raised Right Men! The Syndicate Smokedown had great weather, atmosphere and even better food!

Water Lantern Festival

Panther Island Pavilion LIT up the sky on October 16, 2021, with the Water Lantern Festival. This event, voted #1 by USA TODAY as the Best Cultural Festival, is a reoccurring fan-favorite at the pavilion! There were food trucks, vendors, music, and outdoor games for everyone to enjoy!

Participants were able to decorate their own lantern with their friends and families while enjoying the ambiance of watching the sunset on the Trinity River. As the lanterns were launched, the river slowly filled with hundreds of beautifully decorated lanterns!

1st Annual Justice Run

The 1st Annual Justice Run took place at Panther Island Pavilion on October 10, 2021. Runners had the ability to race in a 10k, 5k, full, or half marathon. This event kicked off at 3:00pm with a free live concert, vendors, bounce houses, food trucks, merchandise, and the races began at 4:00pm.

There were over 1,000 people signed up to run for justice! The proceeds for this event go towards supporting the building of the Justice Residences, long-term residence homes for sex-trafficking survivors.

3rd Annual Cigar and Spirits Tasting

On October 9, 2021, the 3rd Annual Cigar and Spirits Tasting kicked off at 5:30pm at Panther Island Pavilion! With live music, food trucks and lots of vendors, everyone had a SMOKE-tacular time!

Guests got to try premium cigars and spirits from around the world and were able to purchase their favorites for their own pleasure after the night was over.

Cody Johnson & Friends 2021

Cody Johnson & Friends returned to Panther Island Pavilion on Saturday, June 26! — Fort Worth, TX.

Cody Johnson not only brought the party but brought yet another SOLD OUT show to Panther Island Pavilion! Ian Munsick kicked off the party this past weekend. The concert continued throughout the night with Josh Ward and Kevin Fowler on the Main Stage all before Cody Johnson wrapped up the night with a great show!

“I Am Juneteenth” Festival 2021

“I Am Juneteenth” Festival took place at Panther Island Pavilion this past weekend on Saturday, June 19, 2021. This event was special, marking the first official year that Juneteenth became a federal holiday!

As part of a full day-long celebration in Fort Worth that kicked off with the Breakfast with Opal Lee and 2.5 mile walk, it continued at the “I Am Juneteenth” Festival! They were able to support local businesses,  listen to live music, and have the chance to support local food trucks. Rudy Rush emceed the event and Vivian Green performed a great show on the Main Stage.

The night ended with a BANG! The firework show that ended the full day of celebration and fun could be seen from miles away.

TIESTO & TCHAMI 2021

Tiesto added Fort Worth, TX as a stop on his Back to Business Tour on June 12, 2021. He took the stage on the Main Stage and Tchami closed out the night with an afterparty at The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion. Thousands of fans gathered coming from near and far, traveling into Fort Worth from across the state of Texas, along with many out-of-staters! Both shows were sold-out events.

Tiesto was dubbed one of the first large outdoor concerts of its kind to occur within the DFW metroplex since the start of the pandemic. Thanks to Disco Donnie for bringing yet another great show to Panther Island Pavilion!

 

 

 

GOTEXAN Wine, Food & Art Festival 2021

GOTEXAN Wine, Food & Art Festival took place at The Shack at Panther Island Pavilion over the past weekend on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

 

The weather held off and brought the sun for a good portion of the festival for event-goers to enjoy! Festival entrance we free for patrons to listen to a full day of live music taking place inside of The Shack, as well as have the chance to support local food trucks and artists.

 

Those that decided to purchase the wine tasting tickets received a commemorative wine glass along with two samples from each of the twenty wineries present at the festival. Wineries came from all over the state of Texas for the chance to participate in this great event.

FitCon Texas 2021

FitCon brought its two-day fitness expo outside of Utah and to Texas for the first time this past weekend, April 23 and 24, 2021.

The weather in Texas during the springtime can be unpredictable and called for severe storms on Friday, but FitCon did not let that stop them and their close to 2500  event-goers from having a good time. They moved the festival inside The Shack with a revised schedule. There were many vendors onsite as well as a full list of special guests that were available for meet and greets. The night ended with a show by Tommy Vext!

The second day of the fitness expo was full of sunshine and moved back outside! Nearly 3,500 people listen to panel discussions and participated in meet and greets throughout the day along with FREE axe throwing. Spectators were also able to witness armored combat fighting, Fort Worth Wrestling, Pole & Aerial Fitness, and multiple fitness competitions that took place right one site.

Water Lantern Festival 2021

Voted #1 Festival in USA Today, the Water Lantern Festival returned to Fort Worth, TX on Saturday, April 10, 2021.

This family-friendly event allowed people from all different backgrounds to gather and celebrate together near the river at Panther Island Pavilion. Visitors were able to create their own personalized rice lanterns to symbolize moments that have occurred in their lives in the past as well as manifest what they would like to happen in the future. Once the sun set, the lanterns were released one by one to float in the Trinity River and to gather amongst the rest.

The night didn’t end with that, there was one special couple that visited the event from Sherman, Tx. Bryce had a special message displayed on his lantern for his then-girlfriend Kami, “Will you marry me?” After she replied with a yes, they released their lantern together into the river! Congratulations to both Bryce & Kami!

 

St. Paddy’s Dash Dash 5K 2021

The St. Paddy’s Day Dash 5K brought the shenanigans to Fort Worth this year. Run Project’s 5K run was held on this past Saturday,  March 13, at Panther Island Pavilion.

 

Nearly 1,200 participants gathered from all over the DFW Metroplex, sporting their most festive St. Patrick’s Day attire along with 300 virtual participants.  After the run, the fun continued with vendor booths, awards, a tutu contest, and more! Thanks to those that made this event a success and hope to see y’all next year.

Too Cold to Hold 2021

Too Cold to Hold 5K, 10K & Half Marathon moved to Panther Island Pavilion on Saturday, February 27 for another great event produced by Run Project. It was nearly a sellout race!

 

The participants had the option to sign-up for the in-person race or to participate virtually, while still being able to earn the great swag that comes with the Too Cold to Hold race. Close to 1,100 chose to run in-person along with 192 chose to virtually run. This year’s race had new race routes right through Panther Island.

 

Not only were participants able to run local but they were able to give local. They helped Run Project support the Neighborhood Pantry and the Tarrant Area Food Bank! There was an onsite collection of various dry goods.
